In math, multiples are the result of multiplying a number by an integer. Formally, for two integers 𝑎 and 𝑏, we say that 𝑏 is a multiple of 𝑎 if there exists an integer 𝑛 such that 𝑏 = 𝑎 × 𝑛. This means that 𝑏 can be divided by 𝑎 without leaving a remainder. For example, the multiples of 3 are 3, 6, 9, 12, and so on, because each of these numbers can be expressed as 3 × 𝑛 where 𝑛 is an integer.
